The crispy vermicelli is soaked in that gloriously shiny, spicy XO sauce, some corners peeking out and unadorned with sauce. The fat and plump pippies are sitting inside shells bathing in the sauce. I don’t usually order spring rolls but tried these as they are at the Yes Chef dinner. These vegetarian spring rolls are freshly fried and crispy golden, served with sweet and sour sauce on the side. Caswino offers the full Dragon Link range with competitive progressive jackpots and safe, regulated play. What I love about this game is how the bonus values scale with your bet.

Is Golden Century Right for You?
It’s high volatility — you might spin dry for 20 minutes, then land Hold & Spin and walk away with a five-figure win. I’d recommend setting a strict session budget and treating it like entertainment, not a path to riches. Sydney’s culinary scene is about to get a whole lot brighter.
Golden Century
Golden Century, the legendary Cantonese restaurant, is set to reopen its doors at Crown Sydney on Monday, January 20th, 2025, with reservations now open. This highly anticipated return marks a significant milestone for the iconic eatery, bringing back the cherished menu and the spirit of the original Sussex St. location, much to the delight of Sydney diners. The Golden Century fried rice is nice although it could use a bit more seasoning to it.
The scallop, shrimp and pork siu mai come three to a serve and are enormously plump with a whole scallop on top. The filling is made a shrimp and pork filling and the top is garnished with flying fish roe. These are fantastic, I definitely recommend these for both size and flavour and even go for seconds.
The second course is either noodles or san choi bau and we always love the latter for its crisp freshness. The lettuce cups are crisp and the filling is freshly fried and hot and with a nice smokiness from the wok hei. If Golden Century hooks you, check out Autumn Moon — it’s practically a clone of Golden Century with the same Hold & Spin and reveal mechanics, just dressed in a different Asian theme.
“Hospitality is at the heart of everything we do, and we can’t wait to welcome back our loyal patrons and introduce a new generation of diners to the magic of Golden Century.” Please note a 1.15% surcharge applied for all credit card transactions. Please note a weekend surcharge of 10% on Saturdays and 15% on Sundays applies. An additional service fee of 10% applies to bookings of 10 people or more.
Golden Century runs on Aristocrat’s Dragon Link framework, and the engine here is the Hold & Spin feature — the real drawcard. Land 6 or more orb symbols anywhere on the reels, and they lock in place while you get 3 respins. Every time a new orb lands during those respins, your counter resets to 3 more spins, so you’re constantly chasing that next symbol.

Drawing inspiration from the original, the new location will feature live seafood tanks and a menu showcasing Golden Century’s signature dishes. Enjoy their other signature classics including peking duck, salt and pepper squid, and a yum cha lunch offering showcasing over 80 dishes. Your table will be crowded with baskets of delicate prawn gow gee, scallop siu mai and fluffy pork buns, plus plates of braised beef tripe and stacks of crispy fried radish cake.
Golden Century Group
Dinner with signature dishes from Nobu, Amare, Woodcut, Icebergs and Golden Century. The food memories of the Wong family’s beloved Cantonese restaurant run deep. For people of all stripes, from all over Sydney, Golden Century is synonymous with XO pippies, boisterous late-night dining or a yum cha service crowded with families. And in 2025, after a long wait, the family team (Eric and Linda Wong, and their son Billy) reopened at a level-three space at Crown. The Century is where fresh seafood classics meet the essence of our iconic Sydney restaurant, Golden Century.
When your respins finally end, you collect every credit and jackpot value printed on those locked orbs. If you somehow manage to fill all 15 positions on the grid, you win the Grand progressive — and on some high-limit machines in Australian clubs, that can climb into the millions. Honestly when we go to Chinese restaurants we tend to order the same things because there are some dishes that we absolutely love but I am glad that we got to try this God Mother Chilli Diced Chicken. The chicken has a wonderfully succulent texture to it and it has a light numbing chilli hit to it along with crunchy cashews and perfectly cooked okra. Golden Century’s signature dish is XO sauce pippies (so much so that they opened up XOPP several years ago).

I had read mixed reviews about the service and the time taken to receive dishes but the food comes out in a timely manner for all of the tables. It’s a gorgeous breezy and sunny Sunday when we all make our way to Crown Towers in Barangaroo to try Golden Century. The restaurant is located on the third floor just past the Tea House.
My mother rarely made desserts while we were growing up but when she did it was this steamed Cantonese sponge cake made with brown sugar that she called Malay Cake. It’s light and fluffy and served hot out of a steamer basket. I usually like putting these together myself because I like a bit more hoi sin sauce and these do need a bit more sauce, cucumber and spring onion. Prepare for a nostalgic journey of lobster tanks, brusque-yet-efficient service and a memorable late-nights. “We are thrilled to be opening Golden Century at Crown Sydney, especially during the auspicious time of Lunar New Year,” says co-owner Billy Wong.
Iconic Dishes Every True Sydneysider Should Have Tried
I’ve spent plenty of time on Golden Century machines at my local RSL, and there’s a reason this Aristocrat classic keeps pulling punters back. If you’ve played it on a machine in a pub or club, you know exactly what I mean. You can chase that same rush online now, with the same mechanics, same volatility, and the same potential for serious wins.

Happy & Prosperous is another Dragon Link title with similar progressive jackpot interactions. For something slightly different but with the same hold-and-respin core, Panda Magic (the original Lightning Link) delivers comparable tension and win potential, though with its own unique visual style. A beloved Sydney dining institution returns to Sydney with the Wong family reopening the iconic Golden Century. I love anything mochi especially when filled with black sesame. These black sesame tangyuan balls come either topped with crushed peanuts or in a ginger syrup and we opt for the latter. The four balls are filled with sweet black sesame inside them and sit bobbing in a strong but deliciously warming ginger syrup.

I absolutely love char siu and adding a honey glaze to char siu adds that a nice extra complexity of flavour from the honey. The char siu is a good mix of fatty and lean pork and all you need is a bowl of steamed rice for this.
